Space Availability - Richter Library

  • All 2nd FL Richter study rooms are reserved for group study (3 or more students). At least three students must be present at the Access Services desk at the time of check-in to obtain the study room key.
  • Groups of two students can reserve a group study space at night from 10:00 pm to close, depending on availability.  
  • Due to the limited amount of private study spaces, law students are not allowed to book study rooms and grad carrels at Richter Library. Please see more information about study rooms and carrels on the web page of the Law Library, located next to Richter Library.
  • For each study room booking, there is a 3 hour limit for sessions with a maximum of 1 study room booking per day. 
  • Students taking entrance examinations for college, such as SAT, LSAT, MCAT, GRE, etc., can reserve the space for 6 hours during Saturday hours only.
  • Please call or visit the Access Services desk to reserve a group study space for an entrance exam.
  • If you do not check-in and show up in-person within 30 minutes of the reservation's start time, the reservation will be cancelled. 
  • There is a 10 min. padding/buffer in--between bookings  based on recommendations from Environmental Health & Safety
  • Those with Study Room bookings will need to check out a room key at the Access Services Desk once entering the Library.  Keys must be returned to the Desk at the end of your reservation. 
  • Study Rooms may only be reserved one day in advance given the high demand for these spaces.
  • Most rooms include a whiteboard and/or an LED monitor capable of wireless projection from a laptop.
  • Laptops may be available for checking at the Circulation Desk.  
  • Please remember to use the provided wipes to clean any study tables and equipment you may use [staplers, printer, computers, etc.]
